Thank you for considering a donation.  The projected expenses for the conference are $22,000.  The revenue is about $13,500 from online registrants and another $2,500 from cash and checks.  Our estimate is that the conference needs another $6,000 to be paid off.

Given the number of registrants, a standard registration fee of $150 would have been necessary of all registrants in order to hit the $22,000 mark.  We decided to keep the registration rate well below this $150 number in order to boost attendance and help lower the financial hurdle to attending the conference.

Your donation will help to pay off the conference; publish the audio, visual, and video content online; apply for 501(c)3 tax-exempt status; and begin planning for future events and conferences.

Local Future is a nonprofit corporation, incorporated in Michigan, business entity id 70244A, whose Articles of Incorporation restrict it to nonprofit 501(c)3 activities.  All funds are deposited directly into the nonprofit Local Future account.  Local Future does not yet have tax exempt status.
