Apply to Speak / Submit a Proposal

The conference invites visionaries, activists, and leaders to gather at a meeting of equals, to share, engage, network and plan with one another.

Local Future seeks proposals for talks, workshops, and activities which feature one or more of the following:

• Vision of a positive, compelling, realistic future

• Visions of how to advance the movement towards cultural sustainability, resilience, and regeneration.

• Vision of how things will unfold in the future in the areas of social change, culture change, politics, economics, energy and the environment.

• Been educating in the areas of sustainable living in light of peak oil, climate change, economic instability, environmental degradation, etc.

• Stories to tell of their actions including; challenges, successes, failures; lessons learned; case studies; planning and organization processes; etc.

• Leadership skills, especially in the areas of individual change to social change and cultural change; permaculture, localism, transition to sustainability, etc.

• Leadership skills in motivation, inspiration, organization, networking, community building, team building, open space technology, etc.

• Communication skills including public speaking, writing, film and video, podcasting and radio, blogging, social media, etc.
